Boxing Day Hockey Results
OT Victory for the Warriors

On a snow less day the Harlequins battled for the Eighth Annual "Mighty Quin". This Boxing Day's Hockey confrontation turned out to be the best game in the short history of this event. The Warrior's Stu Martin, scored the only Overtime Goal in since 2002 to even the championships at 4 for the Jesters and 4 for the Warriors.

Ian Dorris opened the scoring for the Warriors and also added his second while Andrew Bak capitalized once silencing the Jester fans to take an early 3 - 0 lead.

Chris Stickle replied for the Jesters to bring it to 3 - 1. Then all the fun began as the Jesters Al Prior, appeared to score picking up a Paul Davidson rebound and burying the puck between Warrior goalie, Paul Jones. Apparently, while the play continued there was a booth review and the goal was disallowed based on an offside call! So guess what happened next? Ian Dorris runs the Jester target, Chuck Csaszar, and we had to disallow a goal for the Warriors. Just to add to the fun, the Warriors cheated by opening a door just to change the direction of the puck, so we had to disallow another goal.

Wow, were things heating up, or what?

So, now play continues and the Jesters concede another goal too Stu Martin, domination by the Warriors 4 - 1. Oliver Ronson managed to solve the Warrior ghouler to draw the game closer to 4 - 2. Still lots of jawing about the contraversial goals! Just before the half time, Marc Cohoon tallied to bring the half time score 4 - 3.

The second half begins the same way as the first with the Warriors Ryan Stickle sniping a goal to regain the 2 goal advantage.

The Jesters start playing with a sense of urgency as Jason Trembley sent a knuckle ball over the shoulder of the surprised Paul Jones to bring the game within 1, 5 - 4. Then Chris Stickle took a pass from Al Prior up the middle and was allowed to let the shot go, which proved to be costly as it eluded the Warrior backstop.

With the score evened up at 5, Stu Martin once again regains the Warrior lead as he sniped a slap shot just inside the post of the blocker side of the Jester goalie.

Not to be outdone, Ollie Ronson released a series of deadly shots, finally hitting the net and tying this affair at 6.

So, the clock strikes three, the door for the Zamboni rises. The play is then stopped and it was decided that we were going to play sudden death hockey with the next goal winning or else ending in a tie if the buzzer was sounded. The workers had allowed the game to continue and unfortunately for the Jesters, Stu Martin completed his Hat Trick and also, the only overtime goal seen in the Boxing Day Hockey Experience.

The final score of this epic game was 7 - 6 in favour of the Warriors.

The Jesters selected Paul Jones as the MVP of the game, he's probably still shell shocked from all the rubber he saw.

Yours truly played well!!!
